Circa 1895

Photochrome, Vintage, 22,5 cm x 16,5 cm, Collection Privée

The village of Nein is located in Sharon plain, south of Mount Tabor in Galilee in northern Israel. Mount Tabor, because of its perfect dome shape, reminds us of a volcano. From 558 meters high, the mount overlooks the plain. This mount was strategically and religiously significant. There are many vestiges of fortifications, churches and, monasteries at the summit of the mount. The Bible indicates it repeatedly as a sacred place: "Mount Tabor glorifies God and testifies to his power [2]".
