AS11-40-5949 (July 20, 1969): Astronaut Neil ARMSTRONG, commander of the Apollo 11 mission, photographed the deployment of the early Apollo Science Experiment (EASEP) during the event extra-vehicular crew (EVA). Here, astronaut Edwin ALDRIN, a lunar module pilot, deploys the Passive Seismic Experiment Package (PSEP). The laser telemetry retro-reflector (LR-3) is already deployed and is visible to the left, farther in the background. In the center, behind ALDRIN, is the lunar module. A United States flag is deployed near the LM Eagle. In the background, on the left, we can see the television camera.
